Django Portugal Gypsy Jazz Camp

Nuno Marinho was already an acknowledged Jazz and Music teacher when he decided to dedicate his life to Gypsy Jazz and the Music of Django Reinhardt. As a performer, he traveled the world playing in Europe, Brazil, Angola, India, and the USA.

As a teacher, Nuno has been invited to be part of, none other than, the two biggest and most prestigious Gypsy Jazz Camps in the world: Django in June (Boston, USA), and The Grappelli & Django Camp (Eindhoven, The Netherlands).

When & Where?

The 1st ever Gypsy Jazz Camp in Portugal is happening in the idyllic Vila Viçosa, the vacation village of our Kings. Book your vacation now: from April 23rd to the 27th 2025 we will have 4 days of an intense Gypsy Jazz experience.

Each day we’ll have one morning session focused on Rhythm playing. In the afternoon session, we’ll concentrate on Lead playing. And in the evening it’s Jam Session time.

Group and Individual classes included!

The camp provides meals and accommodation. There are 4 new big single rooms equipped with queen-size beds and hydromassage shower jets. And 6 small rooms that can also accommodate your spouses. Camping fans are welcome to stay at the campsite lawn and general facilities. Everybody has access to the sauna!

There’s a pool, basketball court, bikes, a huge olive tree camp, and plenty of space for jogging and other outdoor activities. The village, the castle, and the palace located in the center of the town are a 4-minute drive. A huge quarry is also a must-visit. And every night after turning off all the lights you will see the most amazing view of the Milky Way.

The 5th edition of Festival Django Portugal is starting right after the Gypsy Jazz Camp, with one of the best Gypsy Jazz guitarists of our time. On May 2nd Lisbon will host the first concert of our first guest.
